FIELD: circulating water supply to thermal power stations and industrial enterprises. SUBSTANCE: method involves comparison of water and air aerohydrothermal parameters measured under field conditions with theoretical limit of cooling. Used as cooling- tower efficiency factor is specified-to-actual undercooling ratio ηeff= (tnom-τ)/(tact-τ), where ηeff is cooling-tower efficiency factor; tnom is cooled water temperature found from nomographical chart; τ is theoretical limit of cooling for atmospheric coolers; tact is actual temperature of cooled water as measured under field conditions. Interrelation between cooling-tower efficiency factor and heat load of cooler is found from formula U = q•Δt, where U is heat load; q is cooler spraying density; Δt is temperature gradient of heated and cooled water. EFFECT: enhanced range of heat loads for diagnosing cooling tower. 1 dwg
