FIELD: various industries. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in sulfonation of unsubstituted phthalocyanines by chlorosufonic acid in high-boiling inert solvent at 180-210 C at mole ratio of starting phthalocyanine and chlorosulfonic acid of 1:2-8. In the course of sulfonation, sulfoacids of phthalocyanines are formed; preferable content of sulfogroups in these acids may change from one to four depending on nature of central atom of metal and amount of chlorosulfonic acid used in the process. Separation of target products is effected in form of free acids or their sodium slats. EFFECT: high degree of purification of sulfosubstituted phthalocyanines and increased of yield to 92%. 12 ex
