FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves supplying product components into at least two chambers of mixing apparatus; providing simultaneous aerodynamic mellowing and mixing of components in at least two zones of each chamber by means of swirling air flows, with air flow swirling and escape rate being regulated in accordance with average weight and average volume of patch at exit end of all chambers of apparatus. Swirling air flows acting upon product in adjacent zones of chamber may be oriented in opposite directions or in one direction. Direction of air flows urging upon product coincides with or is opposite to direction of swirling. Apparatus for mixing fibrous product has mellowing device, which is positioned in at least two zones in each chamber and is made in the form of perforated rotating roller for discharge of air flows through perforations. Diameter of roll perforations is equal to or exceeds diameter of roll due to discharge nozzle arranged above each perforation. Nozzles are arranged perpendicular to tangent of roll or in inclined position at equal or different angles of inclination and are of equal or different length. Method and apparatus are used in flow lines of spinning production. EFFECT: simplified method and apparatus and increased efficiency by improved uniformity of mixing fibrous products. 3 cl, 4 dwg
