FIELD: production of strontium-89 radioisotope for oncologic disease treatment in medicine. SUBSTANCE: method using most commonly known nuclear research reactors with thermal spectrum of neutrons involves irradiation of target containing fissionable material with nuclear reactor neutrons followed by removal of desired radioisotope from target. The latter has fissionable- layer thickness ensuring exit of fission fragments from its surface due to energy of recoil nuclei. Fission fragments are removed from exit area by inert gas current supplied to filtering zone for separating aerosol particles. Then gas current is conveyed to pre-cooling space wherein gaseous fragment of Kr-89, being predecessor of Sr-89 in decay chain of fragments having mass 89, is separated from accompanying radioisotopes due to their faster natural decomposition. After separation Kr-89 is passed to trapping system wherein Kr-89 is held till complete disintegration into desired radioisotope Sr-89. EFFECT: enhanced productivity of process. 4 cl, 3 dwg
