FIELD: fire-fighting equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves creating curtain of cooling liquid, which is atomized in space between surfaces. When more than one liquid curtain is to be created, combined supplying of cooling liquid is carried-out. Apparatus has atomizing unit and screens arranged in spaced relation at both sides of carcass. Method and apparatus may be used for protecting equipment and people during fire suppression, for dividing spaces of ground and underground constructions and apparatuses into fire-preventive sections, as well as for protecting ceilings from collapse and localizing burning zones of extensive fires resulting in ecological disaster.
