FIELD: thermal preparation of phosphate raw material for electrothermal processing to yellow phosphorus. SUBSTANCE: proposed technology specifically refers to agglomeration and thermal treatment of phosphate raw material in rotary roasting furnaces. Technology consists in metering and mixing of components of burden containing apatite concentrate and flux additive reduced in size to 0.074 mm, in humidification of mixture to moisture content of 25-30% of mass of mineral part of burden, in simultaneous agglomeration and roasting of burden in rotary roasting furnace at 1300-1350 C. Content of fraction 0.03-0.065 mm in each component of burden amounts to 60-80%. Technology makes it feasible to produce high-quality agglomerated fluxed phosphate with average compression strength 260-300 kg/piece. Output of conditioned fraction of 20-40 mm is raised to 60-70% and bloating of product going into ore-smelting furnace ( Kb=0.07-0.08 ) is practically excluded.
