FIELD: apparatus for heat- mass-exchange between liquid and gaseous media, particularly, in sprinklers and water catchers of water-cooling towers. SUBSTANCE: packing unit of water- cooling tower has assembled in pile layers of parallel laid hollow long packing members with lattice surface, with alternation in pile of layers with longitudinal and transverse laying of packing members. Unit has shell from hollow with lattice surface long members of packing embracing layer piles over perimeter, and four and more fastening bands passed through lattice surface of packing members in shell and binding the packing unit crosswise. In this case, packing members in layer are fastened by fastening tubes passed through lattice surface of packing members in layer. Packing members, fastening bands and fastening tubes are made of corrosion-resistant material. Invention allows solution of problem of development of universal packing unit of water-cooling tower as sprinkler and water catcher, suitable for mounting and transportation with simplification and lowering cost of mounting and repairs in water-cooling towers.
