FIELD: detection of beta particles formed by decay of tritium. SUBSTANCE: scintillation optical fiber has solid elongated core, thin layer of sheath and doping additive of pigment dispersed inside thin layer of sheath. This thin layer of sheath is capable of transmission of energy of radiation particle if contacted by low-energy radiation particle to collection of photons. Each photon has frequency of radiation energy determined by doping additive of pigment. Detector includes at least one optical fiber, sensor of presence of photons connected to butt of at least single optical fiber. Proposed gear has bundle of optical fibers, aid supplying water for close contact with fibers of bundle and sensor for detection and indication of presence of photons. EFFECT: increased sensitivity of detection of low-energy radiation formed by decay of tritium. 31 cl, 7 dwg
