FIELD: reconditioning of radioactive or chemically polluted concrete for its reuse. SUBSTANCE: explosion method is used either for selective removal of contaminated layers from clean surfaces of concrete (in case only surface layers are contaminated) or for breaking concrete into lumps of desired size (in case concrete is fully contaminated) to be used as filler material. Concrete lumps may be destroyed, if necessary, by means of concrete-crushing plant to obtain desired size useful as filler. Reconditioned and pre- treated filler is then used for manufacturing containers, cells, and the like for storage or disposal of nuclear and/or otherwise harmful wastes and materials. EFFECT: reduced amount of wastes and reduced cost of destroying nuclear or chemical- treatment equipment. 6 cl
