FIELD: registration of product level in hopper.

SUBSTANCE: radioisotope level gauge for measuring level of product in hopper comprises a source of radioactive radiation, multiple scintillators located near the product in the hopper and spaced apart from the source of radioactive radiation, a light-sensitive circuit for detecting light, optical fiber for transfer of scintillation light from all scintillators to photosensitive circuit, wherein optical fiber internally reflects light transferred from first end of fiber to second end of fiber, scintillation light is transmitted from each of the scintillators to the optical fiber through the air connection, the optical fiber emits light in response to absorption of scintillation light from the scintillators, and the light-sensitive circuit collects the light emitted from the optical fiber to provide a representation of the level of the radiation-absorbing product in the hopper.

EFFECT: technical result is higher flexibility of level gauge for operation with containers of different shapes.
