FIELD: electrical engineering; electrical appliances. SUBSTANCE: electric heater is designed for local hot-water supply, apartment heating, liquid heating in environmentally clean research systems for science and technology, in biology and oceanology, especially where high speed and low noise are required at a time. Its housing accommodates heating element with current supplies as well as coaxially and symmetrically arranged liquid flow diffuser, hollow conical shell with base rings of larger and smaller diameters provided with lugs and flow swirling members, and tensioning mechanism that functions to lock smalldiameter base ring in position. Larger-diameter base ring is fixed in position on shell; heating element is made of current-conducting strip in the form of conical spiral contracting along liquid flow that has rectilinear sections each aligned with cone generating line on face side of strip and with symmetry plane of cone on its planar side. Spiral is placed on lugs of both base rings. Smaller-diameter base ring is joined with shell by means of strip and tensioning mechanism. Ratio of larger-diameter base ring to liquid feed nozzle diameter is 1.6-1.1 and strip width-to-length ratio is 25-40. Flow swirling members may be made, for instance, in the form of rings; they are secured on heating element shell. Lock holding smallerdiameter base ring in position relative to axis is arranged to function jointly with tensioning mechanism. EFFECT: enhanced speed of liquid heating. 2 cl, 9 dwg
