FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: radiator may be used for heating surfaces of various pieces of equipment to desired temperature by radiant and convective heat transfer its most effective use being, for example, in conducting various tests in thermal vacuum chambers. Radiator has heating element, reflector, heat insulation placed on side of reflector surface opposite to heating element over its entire area, and screen secured along reflector center line in front of heating element throughout entire length of the latter. Slit is provided in center of screen along its longitudinal center line. Radiator is rather simple in mechanical design and does not need special modifications nor use of special process lines. Density of radiator heat flux conveyed to piece of equipment under test is increased thereby eliminating loss due to energy dissipation from heating element beyond piece of equipment; heat transfer to refrigerator on reflector side and liquid nitrogen consumption for testing in thermal vacuum chamber are reduced. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of radiator, reduced power requirement for heating piece of equipment under test. 1 cl, 2 dwg
