FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: trap has base 12 and cover 14 attached to base. Base 12 includes bowl 16 for specific bait with supporting side pole extending beyond bowl upper level. Cover 14 has casing 30 defining passage between wall 32 of casing and wall 20 of bowl 16. Casing 30 has closure 40, which overlaps space defined by wall 32. Closure 40 is supported by side pole 26. Preliminary chamber is defined at one side by means of side pole 26 and at other side by means of wall 32. Preliminary chamber bottom is made integral with passage bottom. Crawling insects penetrate into opening 46 of preliminary chamber in casing wall. Crawling of insects toward bowl 16 along straight line is restricted by pole 26. Preliminary chamber is wide enough from pole 26 to wall 32 to define space for passage toward bait of insect, which penetrates into trap through preliminary chamber and crawls around pole, when entering into opening 46. Thus, access to bait bowl 16 is facilitated. Bait is placed inside bait bowl. Trap is positioned on surface of habitat. EFFECT: simplified construction, increased strength of trap and provision for reliable catching of crawling insects. 14 cl, 8 dwg
