FIELD: transport engineering; electric systems. method is based on use of contactor with arc control chamber parallel to which additional circuit is connected to act onto switching processes. Current equal in direction and value to current in circuit of switchable circuit voltage supply source is set at beginning of switching process before displacement of movable contact. Then movable contact is shifted with simultaneous regulation of current in additional circuit to provide equality of said currents. After sufficient travel of movable contact, current in additional circuit is decreased to zero and circuit is switched off till next switching. Proposed device has arc control chamber with electromagnetic drive, additional circuit connected in parallel with main contact, current sensor in load-voltage supply source circuit, regulation and control unit and adjustable current source. The latter is placed in additional circuit so as to provide aiding connection of adjustable current source and voltage supply source in voltage supply source-adjustable current source - load circuit. EFFECT: provision pf arcless switching and switch resistance close to zero which improves reliability of switching control processes. 3 cl, 2 dwg
