FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: device is proposed to generate and control high voltage of a matrix direct frequency converter (DFC) of a cascade type with high-frequency sinusoidal pulse-duration modulation (PDM), built on fully controllable switches of IGBT-modules with double-sided conductivity according to a bridge circuit. The method is realised by realisation of a rectification mode in bridge circuits of each cascade with a control angle α=0 and with duration of the switched position of switches at the supply frequency equal to (120°+γ) el., with simultaneous generation and control of the output voltage by method of high-frequency sinusoidal PDM. Introduction of optical converters that operate in a mode of doubling the quantity of control optic signals at the outlet relative to inlet optic signals into the circuit of the high-voltage power part of DFC ensures reduced quantity of channels of optic fibre communication line linked to a microprocessor control system and their increased immunity. The proposed device is realised as a trial design of a matrix DFC of a cascade type with high-frequency sinusoidal PDM, designed to control a high-voltage propulsion motor of high capacity in electric motion systems of promising large-capacity vessels.
EFFECT: increased efficiency factor and reduced weight and dimension indices by elimination of blocks with compensating capacitors at inlet terminals of the direct frequency converter with preservation of high parameters of power quality, both at the side of supply grid and at the side of a mobile load.
