FIELD: machine-tool industry; truing abrasive wheels followed by measuring their profile by replacing truing tool by sensitive contact sensing needle when it is connected to measuring circuit of profilograph provided with recording unit. SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes slide mounted on its base and provided with mechanisms for its motion and angular bracket with trunnion articulated on slide by means of axle perpendicular to base. Mounted on trunnion is swivel platform with carriage and mechanisms for its motion. Mounted on carriage is wheelhead with spindle for abrasive truing tool mounted for motion along spindle axis located perpendicularly relative to trunnion axis. Besides that, device is provided with reversible drive for turn of angular bracket, profilograph and detachable sensing contact with sensing needle used foe securing to wheelhead when truing tool is removed. After truing, new device is prepared for measuring roughness of working surface. Detachable sensing contact is fitted in place of truing tool and is connected to measuring circuit. According to first version, shifting the sensing contact to working position for first and subsequent measurements does not depend on version of its attachment. In all cases, longitudinal axis of sensing contact is set in horizontal position. Every time before conducting subsequent measurement, sensing contact is brought away from wheel and is returned to initial position for first measurement. According to second version, method may be realized, provided sensing contact is secured in such position when its longitudinal axis is parallel to axis of wheelhead spindle. Every time before conducting subsequent measurement, platform with carriage the wheelhead with sensing contact shall be turned of trunnion to opposite side relative to angular bracket through 180 deg. Measurements are performed by switching on the reverse drive of angular bracket turn.
