FIELD: transport engineering; electronic equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for automation of switching on vehicle lights and changing over head-lights from lower to upper beam and vice versa. In proposed device light beam from on-coming vehicle or general light background is taken up by light sensor whose signal is directed to twilight sensing unit and to on-coming vehicle detecting unit. Signals from said units are sent to decoding and priority circuit which controls transistors switching on-off lower and upper beam lamps. Signal from additional light sensor installed in rear part of vehicle gets to coincidence circuit connected by its other input with decoding and priority circuit. Coincidence circuit generates signal only at twilight and switched on external lights of vehicle. This signal controls transistor in circuit of rear view mirror electromagnet when lower or upper beam is switched on (dark hours) and vehicle is followed by other vehicle with switched on headlights.
