FIELD: removal of chromium from sewage waters formed at chemical, leather and other enterprises. SUBSTANCE: precipitation of chromium hydroxide is carried out by electrochemical treatment of sewage water in cathode compartment of diaphragm cells with electrode current density of 50-500 A/sq.m and electricity consumption of 8-10 MC/cu.m. Sewage water after separation of chromium hydroxide is pumped through anode compartment of diaphragm cell. Process of electrochemical treatment of sewage water is performed in electrolyzer with insoluble electrodes. EFFECT: reduced volume of sewage water and exclusion of additional impurities introduced with reagents used in process of sewage water treatment. 1 tbl, 1 ex
