SUBSTANCE: proposed muffler has cylindrical housing, intake branch pipe installed tangentially on housing, outlet branch pipe installed on end face wall of housing on its axis and expansion chamber of volumes increasing in direction of outlet branch pipe and formed by dividing cross partitions, each provided with at least one bypass hole on periphery. Holes of partitions are located on screw line in direction of exhaust gas rotation. EFFECT: simplified design of muffler, reduced hydraulic resistance to gas flow and improved efficiency of muffler. 3 cl, 1 dwg
