FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed invention refers to self-supporting cables which have at least one insulated conducting body including current-conducting cable conductor that has one wire as minimum and insulation around current-conducting cable conductor. Cable also has at least one screening layer elongated longitudinally and sheath. In correspondence with invention screening layer is solid in radial direction and includes wave-shaped irregularities which are located mainly in tangential direction. Sheath includes wave-shaped irregularities which correspond to wave-shaped irregularities of screening layer. When weak compressing force which acts in radial direction is applied to points of attachment of cable wave-shaped irregularities of sheath and wave-shaped irregularities of screening layer enter one another so that gravitational force that acts on cable between points of attachment of cable can be transmitted to current- conducting cable conductors as force acting in axial direction in absence of sliding between various layers of cable. EFFECT: simplified technology and reduced cost of manufacture of self-supporting cables. 12 cl, 3 dwg
