FOREST SOIL PREPARING UNIT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: soil preparing unit has frame, body, knife and moldboards with shares. Disk-type battery is pivotally hung on additional transverse beam arranged on frame rear part. Disk-type battery has lower and upper horizontal plates interconnected through pivotal and retaining bolts. Soil mellowing depth is adjusted by means of additional pivotal suspension of upper horizontal plate on vertical adjusting tie-rod disposed on additional bracket mounted on frame longitudinal beam. Compression spring between upper horizontal plate and bracket provides for required pressure force applied by disk-type battery to soil, continuous mellowing and shock-absorbing effect. Disk-type battery is mounted between moldboards to provide for reliable protection thereof from mechanical damage. Unit of such construction allows soil on uncleaned cutting lands to be cultivated and furrows bottom to be prepared for stimulating mass emergence and rooting of self-sown wood plant seedlings.
