FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, fire-fighting equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary and attendant hydrodynamic heating of fire-extinguishing liquid during the whole fire-fighting period by providing multiple recirculation (bypassing) of fire-fighting liquid by means of bypass line (several parallel lines) from pressure collector of fire pump into suction line thereof and further into pump. Method is effected by means of special insert arranged between suction net and suction hose. Insert is made in the form of jet pump and composed of tubular casing with coupling members at ends thereof. Method is used for preventing fire hoses from icing and freezing. EFFECT: increased fire-fighting efficiency under ambient air low temperature conditions. 4 cl, 4 dwg
