FIELD: tobacco industry; packing of cigarette packet cartons. SUBSTANCE: package has openers providing simple and easy access to one or several packets keeping geometrical form of package and its both end face surfaces after opening undisturbed. Openers of package are formed mainly by line of reduced mechanical tearoff strength provided with notches cutting the material either through or partially, and the sections material connection. Method of forming reduced mechanical strength line is applied to part of section of package blank surface. Position of line is adjusted in length of packing material tape by means of interaction of special mark applied to tape, mark readoff devices and devices adjusting angular position of drives of notch making device as a function a function of readout. Such reduced strength line provides possibility of taking out one cigarette packet from package without dividing the package into two parts. EFFECT: facilitated opening of package. 16 cl, 13 dwg
