FIELD: chemical power supplies. SUBSTANCE: proposed method provides for reducing viscosity and for raising electric conductivity of electrolyte in the event of ambient temperature drop by introducing into cell surface active substances of new class, that is, fluorine-containing SAS (fluorine-SAS). Facilitated diffusion process enables raising efficiency of using active plate materials and power output of cell. Compounds based on perfluorosylvinitealkyl sulfuric acids and perfluorosylvinitealkyl carbonic acids are proposed for use as mentioned fluorine-SASs. Experimentally found optimal range of fluorine-SAS concentration in electrolyte is 0.01-0.25%. At electrolyte temperature of 40 C power capacity of 6ST-140 battery built around these cells, when doped with fluorine-SAS, was higher by 1.58 times compared with standard batteries (that is those not doped with fluorine- SAS) at 22-nd discharge cycle under starting conditions. EFFECT: enhanced power characteristics at subzero ambient temperatures. 5 cl
