FIELD: chemical current supplies. SUBSTANCE: proposed additive has depassivating part and dispersing agent, their mass proportion being 1:1 to 1: 0.1. Soda ash may be used, for example, as dispersing agent. Combination of depassivator and dispersing agent ensures fast dissolution of additive in electrolyte thereby encouraging fast ingress of activating part of additive into plate block with the result that sulfated plates start recovering within short time. EFFECT: improved serviceability of storage batteries at subzero temperatures, especially under starter discharge conditions. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 2 ex
