FIELD: electrical energy generation. SUBSTANCE: electrical energy is generated by separating electric charges in moving ion current using ion-containing water flow as moving ion current which is passed between conductive- material plates whose surface is isolated from water by means of non- polar dielectric that builds up electric field in moving water flow provided time taken by water flow to pass field area is longer than that required for ions to run through plate-to-plate gap. Then water flow is mechanically bifurcated to form two differently charged jets; to this end wedge-shaped partition of non-polar dielectric is placed in water flow at field exit, pointed end of partition enters field through 0.1-100 mm to convey each jet to separate ion storage header made of electricity conducting material wherein ions are neutralized and electrical energy is picked off.
