FIELD: chemical and petrochemical engineering; construction of packing used in heat- and mass-exchange processes (rectification, absorption, condensation, heating, cooling, etc). SUBSTANCE: cross-liked packing unit includes vertical corrugated perforated sheets at inclined corrugation; corrugations of adjacent sheets have similar but opposite angle of inclination relative to vertical; according to invention. Corrugated vertical sheets are made from notched-and-drawn metal sheet at open area of 50 to 75%; notches are rhombic in shape; width of webs between them ranges from 1.2 to 2.0 1,2-2,0 δ, where δ is thickness of sheets; angle of inclination of webs relative to surface of sheet ranges from 35 to 75 deg.; open area of each notched-and-drawn sheet is equal to 50 to 75% of its total area. In preferable versions larger diagonals of rhombic notches are oriented vertically or horizontally; angle of inclination of corrugations relative to vertical shall be between 20 and 70 deg.; adjacent sheets in packing unit are laid in mirror symmetry of direction of bend of webs between rhombic notches.
