FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for suppressing noise in exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. Proposed muffler has housing. Part of housing surface is made in form of bellows. End faces of inlet branch pipe and outlet branch pipe are made with projection inside housing. Part of side wall of inlet branch pipe is enclosed by bellows. Holes are made in side wall of inlet branch pipe, and end inlet branch pipe is stopped. Side wall of at least one branch pipe is provided with narrow corrugations. End of outlet branch pipe is stopped, and holes are made in side wall of outlet branch pipe. Bellows are made with at least one wide corrugation located on section between inlet branch pipe holes. Width of wide corrugation is greater than width of narrow corrugations on side wall of said branch pipes and is greater than width of narrow corrugations of housing bellows. End of outlet branch pipe is stopped, and holes are made in side wall of outlet branch pipe. EFFECT: increased service life, improved noise damping. 11 cl, 5 dwg
