FIELD: radiant gas pipes for heating furnaces in shielding environment. SUBSTANCE: method for servicing radiant gas pipes designed for heating furnaces including continuous furnaces for high-speed thermal treatment of cold-drawn steel strips involves installation of pipe into furnace, gas or air feeding, ignition, operation, and dismounting. Radiant pipe burnout is checked in time intervals equal to 0.05-0.5 of radiant-pipe life specified for given furnace by ceasing gas supply and measuring oxygen concentration in working space of radiant pipe; if this concentration is below 19%, pipe is dismounted. EFFECT: improved quality of shielding environment and steel strips being treated; enhanced safety of furnace in operation.
