FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly manufacture of precision strips for magnetic screens of color kinescopes and displays. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of decarburizing annealing of cold rolled piece; first multiple cold rolling; recrystallization annealing and skin pass rolling between rolls with normalized surface roughness; performing decarburizing annealing at temperature 690 -720 C and soaking at such temperature for 7 - 12 h; realizing first and second multiple cold rolling stages at total reduction degree 30 - 70%; performing recrystallization annealing by heating strips until temperature 610 - 640 C and by soaking at such temperature for 7 - 10 h; performing skin pass rolling of strip at reduction degree 0.8 - 1.2% between rolls with surface roughness 0.10 -0.40 micrometers Ra. Reduction value per pass during first and second multiple cold rolling stages is no more than 40%. It is possible to perform after decarburizing annealing additional stage of strip thickness calibration due to rolling strip in four-high stand at reduction degree 5 - 15%.
