FIELD: power engineering, thermal physics; testing thermionic assemblies of reactors. SUBSTANCE: thermal power of assembly, saturation current density j, A/cm2, vacuum work of emitter output ϕ, eV, relative distribution of generated heat along assembly including recording of relative heat release in each element of assembly are measured under thermal vacuum degassing conditions, mean density of heat flux from emitter of each element is determined and minimal value of heat flux mean density qmin,Wt/cm2, is recorded; reduced emissivity factor is evaluated using equation . EFFECT: enhanced precision due to considering impact of nonuniform heat release along power generating assemblies.
