FIELD: direct conversion of heat to electric power, in particular, design of power production equipment with heat-emission converting reactor with heat-emission assemblies installed within core. SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring current-voltage diagram for two fixed values of N1 and N2 of heat or neutron power of reactor under investigation, measuring isothermal current-voltage diagram under abrupt alteration of resistance at load evaluating emitter temperature Te. Goal of invention is achieved by measuring current values I1 and I2 and voltage values V1 and V2 in points of intersection of isothermal current-voltage diagram to first and second current- voltage diagram with equal power levels, or by measuring or evaluating temperature of electron condensation on collector and total electric resistance R of switching jumpers and current terminals. Heat power of heat-emission assembly Q for heat power of reactor N is evaluated using equation given in invention specification. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 1 dwg
