FIELD: mechanical engineering; turbines. SUBSTANCE: drops of water in wet steam getting out of steam turbine carry electric change. Charged water drops, getting in sufficiently strong electric field created by specially arranged electrodes are divided into great number of droplets serving as nuclei for fine condensation. Supersaturation of steam is reduced and, consequently, content of water in steam phase reduces as well as pressure in condenser and backpressure in turbine. Electrostatic forces acting onto charged droplets of water decrease turbulence in wet steam flow, thus additionally reducing backpressure. EFFECT: increased efficiency of unit and generation of power at constant fuel consumption. 24 cl, 3 tbl, 9 dwg
