FIELD: burning various kinds of fuel, including pulverized and high-reactivity fuels, in power boilers. SUBSTANCE: swirling-type furnace has dry bottom hopper; prismatic vertical combustion chamber on top of this hopper with burners installed on two opposite sides of chamber and tilted down; air nozzles; it also has combined nozzles arranged below and used for introducing at least one of components: pulverizing system drying agent, air, pulverized coal, high-reactivity fuel, and recirculating gases; combined nozzles mounted on wall under air nozzles are tilted up and outlet sections of burners, air and combined nozzles are shaped as vertical slits whose vertical axes are disposed in common planes; novelty is that air nozzles are mounted not below elevation of burners; they are built of two compartments which are arranged one immediately on top of other and face opposite sides relative to mentioned vertical planes.
