FIELD: plastic metal working. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making wire blank from strip billet by successive transitions of symmetrical bending of edges of blank from its periphery to mean portion. Symmetrical bending of strip blank edges is realized at first transition until contact of inner surface of two first bent portions with turned to them remained part of blank. At least at one successive transition bending is realized until achieving contact of inner surfaces of blank portions formed at previous transition with turned to them remained surface of blank. At final transition bending is realized until achieving mutual contact of outer surfaces of portions formed by bending at previous transition in order to receive wire blank with solid cross section or with cross section having gaps between bent portions. Then wire blank is squeezed in rotary plant for shaping and sizing it in order to produce wire blank with predetermined size and contour of cross section and to eliminate possible gaps in its cross section.
