FIELD: woodworking industry; applicable in production of plywood and plywood boards. SUBSTANCE: formed package of plywood exceeds size of press plates in direction of loading. Pressing is effected in several cycles with motion of package in press. In so doing, in zone of package, which during the first cycle of pressing is located out of plates of hot press but gets into region of their thermal action, drying-off of adhesive layers takes place, after which, adhesive and cohesion properties of adhesive layers are preserved but transfer of binder to adjacent veneer sheets is impossible. Presence of adhesive layers on each glued surface in said zone ensures strong adhesive joint in next pressing cycle. Adhesive layers of package which are located out of press in the first cycle of pressing and sufficiently distant from press hot plates, particularly, are not affected by their thermal action and may be applied to one of veneer glued surfaces. EFFECT: production of large-size plywood on standard press for production of plywood of usual sizes without using additional equipment. 2 dwg
