FIELD: metallurgy, particularly, metallurgical heat technology, more specifically, hearth-type furnaces designed mainly for heat treatment of articles, for instance, firing, tempering and hardening of articles. SUBSTANCE: hearth-type furnace has single-chamber body with movable hearth, convective-radiation grate with slots and located on side members of body for direction of heat carrier to chamber. Convective-radiation grate is made with variable spacing of sots, and at angle of "β" of grate slot inclination is oriented to side of motion of heat carrier. Ratio of area of slot walls of convective-radiation grate to area of grate frontal wall is selected from 50 to 10 for equalization of temperature field in space of furnace working chamber.
