FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: batch-type furnace for fast firing includes a housing with loading and unloading openings, a device for movement of items assembled in the form of packs with formation in them of horizontal and vertical channels, and burners located on the crown and on side walls of the furnace; burners are made in the form of high-speed burners providing excess air coefficient of 1 to 30, temperature of flame of 100 to 2000°C and flame efflux speed of 20 to 200 m/sec. Burners located on side walls of the furnace opposite gaps between packs are directed towards each other and installed at the bottom on one side and at the top on the other side of packs in a staggered order along side walls with formation in vertical plane of transverse cyclones of heat carrier, which are opposite directed in each gap. Crown high-speed burners are located opposite central channels.

EFFECT: increasing specific productivity from a square metre of the bottom and improving quality of items.
