FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: the method deals with evaluating the concentration of blood serum testosterone in mature male mice 72 h after a single injection of a test dose of the preparation equal to 25 mcg/ml total peptides at the volume of 0.5 ml/mouse in case of parallel injecting for a control group a sterile isotonic solution of sodium chloride at the same volume. The preparation is considered to be biologically active if it provides the increase of testosterone concentration by not less than 4 times against a control group. Concentration of serum testosterone could be determined by any of the well-known methods, for example, by immune-enzymatic assay with application of commercial test systems. The method enables to quantitatively detect biological activity of different medicinal forms of preparations made of prostatic tissue. EFFECT: higher accuracy of results. 1 cl, 1 tbl
