FIELD: mining; applicable in underground mining of thick ore deposits with caving of overlying rocks. SUBSTANCE: method includes mining of deposit by blocks; driving of development workings; formation of pull holes; formation of rectangular barrier pillar on blocks boundary; drilling and loading of holes with explosive charges; breakage of ore reserves by blasting; withdrawal of broken ore from blocks; extraction of barrier pillar and ore drawing. Barrier pillar is located between pull holes above haulage working. Pull holes are made in form of truncated cone with vertical walls on side of pillar found in one plane with its side surfaces. Pillar is drilled off before beginning, and caving, at the moment of working out, in drawing of main reserves by the first row of pull holes from side of solid mass. EFFECT: higher safety in mining operations, and efficiency of mining due to reduced ore losses and ore contamination. 2 dwg
