FIELD: mechanical engineering; steam turbines. SUBSTANCE: end seal has holders with support ribs installed in outer box carrying sealing rings and dividing the seal into several intermediate chambers. First chamber relative to cylinder passage part is high-temperature chamber, and chamber following the high-temperature chamber in direction of steam flows is coolable chamber provided with inlet of cooling steam. Holder between said chambers from side of coolable chamber is covered by screen forming closed space with the holder. Holder with screen is installed in seal with coolable chamber opposite to steam flow inlet of larger diameter over sealed clearance. Said screen forms with holder a pocket covered from side of outer box. In proposed end seal, owing to screens, temperature differentials at opposite sides of holders forming coolable chamber are reduced. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operation. 4 cl, 3 dwg
