FIELD: thermal engineering; steam turbines. SUBSTANCE: end seal has section of labyrinth seal rings grouped in compartments which are mounted by means of base support in turbine cylinder casing. Steam leak evacuation and sealing steam delivery chambers are provided between mentioned compartments. Base support is made for all compartments in the form of integral solid cylinder that functions as holder for compartments and has drillings on inner surface to form annular chambers communicating by means of channels passing through holder with steam evacuation and delivery chambers provided in cylinder casing. These chambers are made in the form of scrolls; steam deflection ridges are provided on shaft and on shaft hub against drillings communicating with steam leak evacuation chambers which improves conditions for evacuating steam flowing between seal compartments. Proposed design of end-seal unit ensures relatively uniform temperature gradient along holder. EFFECT: provision for preventing temperature strain of base support for seal compartments. 3 cl, 3 dwg
