FIELD: medicine, colorectal surgery. SUBSTANCE: after mobilization against a toothed line, the rectum with a distal third of sigmoid flexure is descended into anal canal. Then it is crossed at the level of sigmorectal passage. On resecting the rectum, muscular layer of sigmoid flexure is separated by leaving the excess of mucosa. A muscular flap is made. It is circularly fixed to the proximal rectal part. Smooth muscular cuff is formed. Sigmoanal anastomosis is formed by leaving the excess of mucosa. The latter is resected 3 d later. The method enables to improve functional results of surgical treatment in case of rectal prolapse. EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy. 1 ex
