METHOD FOR MAKING POROUS SHEET MATERIAL FROM METALLIC GAUZE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: processes for making porous sheet material for production of articles operating in condition of high temperatures, pressures and speeds of working fluid flow, mainly for manufacturing blades of gas turbines. SUBSTANCE: method for making porous sheet material of metallic gauzes comprises steps of preparing set of gauzes, preliminarily working them by chemically cleaning, applying solder onto surface of gauzes, cold rolling them, assembling treated gauzes to pack, vacuumizing it, heating until temperature of melting solder, hot rolling and cooling. Before assembling operation, securing mutually spaced stripes of impermeable material on surface of one gauze; at assembling pack placing said gauze between others; welding on stripes of impermeable material by condenser energy-storage welding. Preferably gauze with stripes of impermeable material is placed in middle of pack; using stainless steel or nickel base alloys for making above mentioned stripes.
