FIELD: machine for manufacture of glass cans. SUBSTANCE: mold opening and closing mechanism for sectional machine comprising multiplicity of sections has frame for each section, pair of opposite mold supporting mechanisms, device for holding each of mold supporting mechanisms on top the section for linear displacement between backward position, in which supported molds are separated one from another, and forward position, in which supported molds are caused to be brought together for engagement. Supporting device has casing resting upon section frame and extending upward, first and second round shafts. Casing is equipped with unit for supporting first and second shafts arranged in parallel and in spaced relation one with respect to another in horizontal plane. Each of round shafts has free end remote from casing, which is attached to one of mold supporting mechanisms. EFFECT: simplified construction and increased efficiency. 4 cl, 50 dwg
