FIELD: construction engineering; applicable in construction of tank farms for storage of liquid products. SUBSTANCE: base of steel vertical storage tank has supporting member made in from of circular reinforced-concrete foundation mat and sand fill on which compacted sand pas is formed. Novelty consists in that tank wall rests on circular pile foundation mat, and made in sand fill are trapezoidal trenches filled with filler, on which tank bottom rests.
