FIELD: drilling of directional and horizontal wells; applicable in guidance of wellbore to design point of producing formation by azimuth from vertical position of drill string. SUBSTANCE: method includes registering of inclinometer body relative to deflecting tool, and drill string is turned from wellhead. Then subject of determination is geophysical azimuth Am from wellhead to deposit and angle α between plane of deflecting tool and measuring axis of inclinometer. Drill sting is turned until actual azimuth Aa of inclinometer measuring axis is equal to Am-α if plane of action of deflecting tool is located to right side from inclinometer measuring axis, or Am+α if plane of action of deflecting actual azimuth is determined in course of turning by formula , where Wx, Wy are projections of horizontal component of Earth rotation on inclinometer axis perpendicular to longitudinal axis.
