JOINT FOR SMOOTH TUBES Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: pipe line fittings; sanitary and industrial systems working under pressure; tight connection of pipe lines and units during repair and reconditioning. SUBSTANCE: proposed joint includes threaded pipe union provided with one or two internal bores for receiving one or two sealing bushes, nut, washer, flexible member made in form of disk spring and placed between washer and pressure nut. Flexible member made in form of disk spring ensures effective clamping of sealing member under varying operating conditions of tube within wide temperature and pressure ranges. Surface of washer facing the sealing gasket is provided with bead with internal cone; sealing bush is provided with cone-shaped engageable surface at conicity equal to that of bead. Bead found on washer ensures smooth distribution of forces exerted on end surface of sealing bush for smooth deformation and tight clamping of tube by bush.
