FIELD: heat engineering, applicable for combustion of solid, liquid or gaseous fuel in water heating devices of industrial, agricultural and domestic purpose. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in the fact that the phase state of the pressure flow of liquid heat-transfer agent is changed at inlet section of the heat exchanger in the low-temperature region of exit gases. The heating device has a device for combustion of fuel and a heat exchanger. The inlet section of the latter comprises an inlet chamber and an inlet mixing chamber separated by a partition with an inlet cavitator, inlet neck and an inlet diffuser hydraulically conjugated to the connecting section having successively arranged outlet mixing chamber, outlet neck and an outlet diffuser. EFFECT: enhanced coefficient of heat transfer from combustion products, mainly of low power-generating fuel, and enhanced efficiency of the device due to waste recovery of low-potential heat of combustion. 10 cl, 5 dwg
