ELECTRIC HEATING FABRIC Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2187907 C1

FIELD: electrical engineering; electrothermy. SUBSTANCE: electric heating fabric which is, essentially, cloth of interwoven threads used as part of electric heating element for miscellaneous heating appliances designed for maintaining desired temperature in certain local area has main nonconducting threads woven in first direction and resistive conducting threads woven in second direction perpendicular to the former. Cloth includes at least two conducting buses and at least one distribution bus isolated from resistive conducting threads by means of insulating barrier of nonconducting threads incorporating circuit interrupters for power distribution among conducting buses. One of conducting buses is bifurcated and has two channels. Means for connecting conductors are placed in holes provided in main nonconducting threads which are placed in channel-to-channel clearance of bifurcated bus, either side of mentioned barrier; one of circuit interrupters being disposed between mentioned holes. In addition main nonconducting threads have linen type of weave with mentioned nonconducting threads forming insulating barrier , with resistive conducting threads, or with low-resistance threads incorporated in distribution bus; low-resistance threads incorporated in conducting buses have twill type of weave with all threads of second direction. EFFECT: enhanced performance characteristics, reliability, and efficiency of fabric, facilitated manufacture of cloth and flexible heaters. 10 cl, 3 dwg
